Remake of a classic

scott_orangesky_redo_hdr_darker

This is a remake of a fairly popular photoshop edit I did of a friends car. The original photo was never meant to be more than an example, yet many people really liked it, even with its flaws.

My wife says her co-workers like the original as well.
Ive been thinking of custom shirts with some of my best photos as a advertising tool. This photo came up as one of the few Id use, but I had to remake it.
I hope the new one, with out the brick wall, proves to be as popular as the original.

I dont know about the food but im pigging out on the rolls. then im taking some back to the hotel for breakfast....and lunch.

nice message. written by young girl in chalk at the philly bike race.

Turns out it was not just a random message at all.
There was a LIVE STRONG booth, Lance Armstrong's cancer foundation, down from our setup.
I ran over while they were shutting down and bought a shirt.
I am a testicular cancer survivor my self.

Difficult

Its getting more and more difficult lately to be any bit cheerful.
I spend my time biting my tongue and just trying to make it through the day.
Taking photos is all I have to take the edge off lately.

Luckily I had time to get a few decent photos during the event, and some while walking to dinner afterwords.

Music soothes the savage beast. So play some hard classic rock to calm your nerves when entering philly in a large truck.

Im exhausted, but I have some nice pics.

So the day went about as expected.
We were fully setup, half way into our event day, and it starts to rain.
Except it wasn't that simple.

I had forgotten the laptop used for our video setup at the hotel.
We left the hotel at 3am, started setting up at 4am, and I didnt realize I had forgotten the laptop until 7am.
We had a local ABC weatherman and live van coming at 9am.
So I had to drive 50 some odd miles back to the hotel, pick up the laptop, drive back, setup the laptop up and start the day. This was around 9:40 or so.

Only a couple hours into it I notice our external hard drive for the videos is nearly full. It contains all of the original video files after the web version's are uploaded.

We actually start to get a crowd, things seem to be going ok, then the hard drive is full, the laptop crash's, and a old spare drive has a bad fire wire cable.
THEN it starts to rain.

As im writing this im being told I was on TV. Turns out I was video taped operating the sucker punch wall a few more times that I thought.
Unfortunately it doesnt show me when Im helping someone down from the wall, writing names and times, updating the leader board or fixing stuff.
It shows me cleaning my camera lens, text messaging about the hard drive issue, or just flipping the switch.
Great....

Ill post the link here when I get it.

Sooo...

Today wasn't exactly what I would want for a day off.
I woke up around noon, which was nice for a change, and started working on a back log of paperwork.
As a truck driver Im required to keep logs of miles traveled in what states, routes taken, and fuel receipts. I was more or less 20 days behind.

While doing trip reports, I was also doing expense reports. While doing expense reports I find out that not all of the video files from our last event were uploaded.

This is always fun to hear.
I have to use two laptops, one flash drive, and one mini hard drive to convert and upload slow motion videos taken from our sucker punch wall.

Confused?

Im doing a tour for ABC's wipe out game show.
Its this crazy obstacle course based game similar to the old MXC show.
People compete in a series of time based obstacles for the chance to win $50,000.
You fall, get thrown around, catapulted, knocked in the face, slathered in mud or whip cream, folded in half, and a myriad of other humiliating painful ,but fun to watch, ways.

My job is to haul around a trailer with a 20 some foot log roll, and a 12 glove sucker punch wall using pneumatic actuators. We go to various events, currently on the east coast, and setup for a couple of days. People get the chance to compete for a shirt if they complete the course in the top 5 times, but everyone gets a water bottle or rally towel.

When a contestant goes across the sucker punch wall

they get video taped. This video can be picked up online from www.abcwipeoutroadtrip.com by use of a card we scan in, and attached to their registration info.
The video shows them getting punched in slow motion.

The log roll isn't video taped, but is fun to take part in.

You can always check out photos I take from the events at my flickr site.

My new t1 canon DSLR can take HD video, so I'm hoping to upload some of those as well soon.

So back to the original point.
I have had nothing but issues trying to upload these videos from day one.
Its been a learning curve for everyone. So while doing expense and trip reports, I find out that 68 videos have not been uploaded, even though Ive been uploading for the past two days.
In between lack of wifi at one hotel, and switching back and forth between the video and converter laptop, a mistake was made.
It was irritating to say the least.
I felt like I was the last one to know. Someone with the company text messaged one of my coworkers about the problem, but he was asleep, so I found out hours later.

In the end the videos are uploaded, I vented in a not so professional manor , and finished (I hope) all of my reports.

Im beat, now its time to eat.

Moments

A minute with the right person can spread across time and reality and touch the core of your very existence in every possible and conceivable universe . One single touch creating an explosion of euphoria so singularly unique that 20 years from that time you can recall, replay and remember the very hour, minute and moment of every detail from every nerve ending that this person brought to life.

Time, life

Time is a measurement,
Life is an explanation of what your time on earth has been.

During your life you have gaps that are explained away as time passing bye.

Other times you are forced to watch as your life passes you bye.

Sometimes your time spent away from life means watching the life of others go bye.

Over time you remember the life of others who are no longer around to spend time with.

The lives of others may take up your time, but attribute much to your own life.

The time I spent to write this was a very slow period of a day in my life.

Damn, whats the point

Is there a fucking quota of bullshit a person must put up with in life?
Is some accountant tucked away somewhere, some how deciding who needs more pain and tension in their day to day life?

They say a child is born neither good nor bad, but is shaped by the events in their lives.
But is every child born destined to have to put up with so much trauma and despair that no one could come out sane?
That regardless of your genetics and family some jerk with a grudge ticking away at a antiquated counting machine with glass's perched on his nose decides you wont have an easy life. No matter your personality or disposition everything and everyone will dump on you until you lose it.

No matter how much you try to smile, no matter how often you put your best foot forward, your slapped in the face or stepped on over and over.

The pain of loss ends up equating to the loss of pain.
You become numb to the needs of others, as much as they were numb to your needs.
You become numb to your own needs, as much as fate was never concerned with yours.
You lose the little bit you havent lost in your life and let the pain of loss rip your already blackened soul asunder.
You lash out at everything and everything and force them to feel the pain. You turn towards fate and that bastard behind the abacus engage him with the rage in your mind that's bottled up like time capsule buried underground and forgotten about, a relic of a life past.

After your done and your calmed down, the red has left your face, your nerves have stopped shaking, and your lungs have filled up with air, you stop and stare.

Now everyone looks at you like what the fuck is your problem and how dare you speak up. You no body, you loser, you toss pot. You arrogant fucking prick, who are you to complain and fight against your station in life.

God comes down and confronts you, ready to strike you down where you stand.
Its a battle of forces, a clash of titans.

It doesnt matter who will win, cause no matter what in the end we all lose.
You will either despise, or be despised.
You will either deal with it, or you wont.
You will make the best of what you have, good or bad. Its the few good things that make you deal with the bad.
Put up or shut up.
Deal or no deal.

Black Tear's

Blame me not for who I am, blame your perception of me. I can not be what I have never been, but you are unmaking what I have tried to be. My mind walks a narrow path, tracing shadows on the edge of reason. My judgment is clouded by things and beings beyond my control. If not beyond my control, to innocent to be controlled, they must be done no harm.

Blame me not for what Ive done, blame instead what you sought to have me do. To control another being, is to have power over ones heart and soul. Best left alone, or retribution might come. Ive known fear, Ive seen it in a hand full of dust, it has chilled my blood, and hardened my heart.

Blame me not for what has been said, blame your self instead. For you are My blackest tear, In my world of crystal fears. Now begone, and leave my torment alone.

Revelations of R

I routinely rebel against the rubber stamp revelations by the royal rooks. The rabble of racket rousers races downstream like a river of rapids. The rabies infested rats that reject our rebirth resign our resurrection signaling a want for revolt and riot.

The robbery that represents robot like acts or racism and rogue behaviors against us is kin to roots of rot in our minds, causing the room to turn to ruins.

Self-contained racks of rage fortify us against steel rams and rash ransoms. The rattle of razors against our self-reflection turns reconcilement into rejection. Reap heavy the rewards and relief in relationship with friends and relatives. The remodeling and self-renovation does much to repair and resuscitate the riddles of right and roque.

Journey of a sheep.

It is a wonderful thing, life as a sheep.
Getting led around by little Bo Peeps.
Led hither and yonder by dogs with no leash.
Barked at, stripped naked, it’s a wonderful peace

Yes life as a sheep is a glorious way.
To chew grass, leap walls that where put in our way.
What goes on behind closed doors, we know little bout.
But we do what we are told, when Bo Peep starts to shout.

"A Wolf, a Wolf, follow me now. Don’t worry about where, don’t worry about how. Ignore that cliff I wont let you fall. Ignore the clippers they won’t shear you all. Ignore your brother, who was taken down. I’m sure Ill lead you to safer ground."

The wolf is evil and cunning indeed, so we always do what our master heeds.
Off we run, over walls and through creeks.
Being chased by Peeps dogs, snipping at our cheeks.
Finally we enter a shelter claimed safe.
Many enter, few leave, I’m sure there's bad history surrounding this place.

Unknown

I'm going to post some old poetry here.

I never feared what I never owned, I
do not feel what I have never known, I
do not trust the path before me, I
will not go where I am to blind to see, I
visualize and strive to know, I
am curious and dieing to go, I
feel the urge of the unknown now,I
strongly feel the chaos, but I dont know how, I
came upon it, helped it grow, so what happens now, I
do not know.

I suspect some part of me, I
think a traitor to my self Ive become,I
see no sense trying to hide though, I
see no sense is trying to run, I
fear the known, which was lost before,I
cross the path, blind or not,I
am eager to know this unknown more.....

Day off?????

First day off in nearly a month.
The small things like going to a burger king, doing laundry, and just sleeping have been missed.

Walking around downtown New York city with a couple large red balls in tow is odd, even for new york.
This is a official WIPEOUT photo taken by our emcee Chris Smith.
We were hit a few different spots in the city taking photos of people with our Ballsys.
This one was done of my self at Grand Central Station.

Luck wasn't on our side it seems.
The rain we experienced did how ever give me a chance to finally get a few HDR reflection shots.
